Is it Sunnah to fast six days in the month of Ramadan?
month following Ramadan Shawal is called, and was established in the Sunnah of the recommendation to fast six days. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and then fills it with six days of Shawal is as if he fasted a whole year"
1. The explanation of why the fast of Ramadan and six days of Shawal fasting equivalent to a full year is because in a hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) stated that Allah reward good works by multiplying by ten, in his infinite mercy and goodness, is that 30-day fasting month of Ramadan and multiply by ten, it means that 300 days is equivalent to fast, if we add the fasting six days of Shawwaal, and multiply by ten, equivalent to 60 days, giving a total 360 days, equivalent to a full lunar year.
Praise Allah for his generosity to his servants regard to this fast, it is permissible to fast six days in a row, or you do it separately. Can a person start fasting six days of Shawal when it still has days to make up fasting days of Ramadan?
If someone has missed some days of Ramadan should fast first and then fast the six days of Shawwaal, because the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and then fills it with six days of Shawal is as if he fasted a whole year"
2. The Hadith states that must be completed in the month of Ramadan, then fasting six days of Shawal to complete a year of fasting.
